BlackBerry 10 Slider ‘Milan’ Has Been Cancelled

blackberry-milan

We’ve received word from one of our sources, who says the BlackBerry 10 slider, codenamed Milan, has been canned. We haven’t received specific details just yet, but it is apparently an issue with hardware.

None of the BlackBerry 10 devices have been made yet. They are still in engineering, under New Product Introduction (NPI). RIM is allegedly waiting for a new LTE dual-core chipset from Qualcomm before they start production.

For now, we can only guess the Milan has been cancelled for possible obvious reasons. A portrait slider with a rumored 4.2-in screen would be quite awkward. Perhaps RIM is going back to the drawing board to pursue a more horizontal approach we told you about last year. Keep it locked to N4BB as we attain more details on the matter.

This is why they need new direction.

Why? This phone is ugly as hell.

This would just sucks… I love the form factor of the Torch and this would have been my next phone!!! I dont like the horizontal slider and I loved the fact that a 4.2inch screen would have make it big, more like a Bold with a HUGE screen… Hope the source is wrong and they release this phone!!

  4. Very disappointed in this news. I loved my 9800 and love my 9810. Was so looking forward to getting this device. Sad sad news.

not that sad of news… there still will be a slider but this phone just would not have worked…imagine trying to type on this awkwardly top heavy device.

  6. Oh really!

My bet is it never even existed. Looks like a photoshop of an iphone with a crappy looking slider on the bottom. Release fake news then release more fake news so we are back to square one.

  7. I want a slider but not this. The keyboard sucked and the torch was a much nicer looking phone.

They probably realised that leaving out a trackpad was a bad idea too! :P

So, a rumoured device is rumoured to be cancelled. Should I be concerned about this?

Of course if it had an Apple logo on it it would look stunning. Apart from he bottom corners looks like an iPhone 4. Apple is proof that you can fool all of the people all of the time,
