BlackBerry App World 3.0 First Look at New Features

We just got some info on what the upcoming BlackBerry App World 3.0 will be like and some of it’s features! There are no screenshots but it will have a new and improved UI along with a bunch of new features. Check them out below:

  • New UI (categories OS6s-style with carousel)
  • Social Sharing of Apps (via BBM)
  • Subscription for content per7/30 days Trials
  • Normalize prices between currencies
  • Search bar (like universal search in home screen)
  • Carrier Billing for major carriers

Enterprise AppWorld

  • Enterprise channel inside AppWorld
  • Blackberry OS first, PlayBook later
  • Visibility and permissions managed by BES admin

  1. hopefully they have better categories and searching. Maybe even give us the option to delete crap off our uninstalled list.

    Also I find that apps that are free are actually just crapware. a proper distinction between free and paid apps and trialware would be good.

    In the end, I find third party apps quite annoying especially from independent devs who seem to think its their right to spam us via our emails or notifications via appworld about apps that we haven’t even downloaded.
