I think this phone looks awesome! The camera placement suggests the screen or battery won’t be nearby, giving all the room required to make it an autofocus camera (weird how this is even something we’re hoping for)! The back of the phone has that slick logo and it looks like we’ll be getting a front facing camera too. I happen to think its very good. All that’s missing is some metal hardware accents to give it that premium look and feel. What would you change about the design?

Think the same, Phone looks great, Shud be quick, slick and have a great Battery life. Specially as the OS on the PB is coming along nicely, this will translate well for the phone which will be using the same OS.

It will likely have that same rubberized plastic like the PlayBook.

Here’s my take on it. While it’s on par with anything else out there, and possibly beyond, it looks entirely too much like the iPhone and an Android device had a love child. As a proud owner of the Torch 9860, I’m a fan of more sculpted features as opposed to candybar form-factors.

The phone does look very slim and clean, don’t get me wrong, but it looks too plain, too flat, and too boring as well. I’m sure the os will cover a lot of that ground to keep folks more than intrigued, but from first glance, there’s nothing special about it when you compare it to the competition. RIM has always been very good at designing phones, and with this rendition of the London, I think they went too far away from what their fans were really looking for. The phone should be a happy medium between the 9860 and what the first leaked pic of the London was.

Adding an accessories like attachable keyboards (various BB keyboard styles) with NFC or Bluetooth to appease diehard keyboard fans would be a wise move too. Something that everyone loves about the iPhone and other Apple products are the plethora of accessories for so many different situations and uses. BlackBerry HAS to have this implemented asap. The operating system is already amazing. Put the entire package together for launch and every other platform will be put on notice at the same time. RIM is here to win.

Great ideas and input Revyrah. I agree. The original image of the London definitely stood out more. I love the design of my 9860 as well. The curves, the back feel, the logo, the thinness, and the sculpted form. The Bold 9900 is still by far the sexiness phone of all time, in my opinion. With the backlit keys, brushed aluminum sides, it stand out big time. I want to see more flashiness like the Bold. That’s what gets people’s attention.

I actually love the rubberized back of the 9860. It definitely reflects quality design and hardware. I would even like to see some variants with subtle, but flashy colour accents, anything to grab people’s attention and say “This is a blackberry!”.

Now is not the time to understate anything.

There’s a concept phone that a blackberry fan designed. I really think BlackBerry needs to SERIOUSLY consider putting this concept into production. I like the current design of the London and I’m actually holding off upgrading until this device comes out. The concept design I spoke of is made by John Anastasiadis. i think the London is going to give other smartphones some competition, but he concept by John Anastasiadis will put all other smartphones on notice.

I must admit I like this hardware. I think the only thing missing is the traditional Buttons(Green, Menu, escape, Red). Along with the trackpad. I’ve had the opportunity to talk to a few different Blackberry users, who are with different carriers, and they seem to say the same thing about this phone. It looks great, but it’s not a Blackberry unless those buttons are on it. The Storm, though it had two generations, was considered(in my opinion) a failure. Where there is something positive to say about the Torch series. It isn’t the greatest phone however I feel it maintains a level of success that the Storm did not achieve. It’s amazing how a small thing like a trackpad can make people feel better about a phone. People like the ability to choose; Having the option to use it or not.

I would also like to see the aluminum/metal sides. I agree, it will set it apart from iphone or android phones. It will be what we truly love, Blackberry!

Just my small thought.

I’d still buy it as it looks there though, haha. If the BB logo on the back was coated with a colour-shifting film, that would be sick!
