Post Curve 9300 keeps shutting down

I have a curve 9300 running os 6.0.0.600 and whenever the battery gets to about 30% the device just shuts off and I have to plug the charger in before it starts turn on again. The battery also seems to go down a lot faster than usual and my usage or apps open hasnt changed. This only happened a couple of weeks ago. I cannot find anything online related to this. Is this a battery malfunction and do i have to take the device back to my carrier? somebody please help!!

Yes, this is definitely a bad battery. Sounds pretty apparent now, but if you take out the battery and the center on either side feels like it is bulging out, then it is definitely bad. But from what you’ve described it sounds like you just need a new battery.

Thanks a lot lucas, I posted this on the blackberry support forums, about 60 people viewed and nobody bothered suggesting anything at all. Just ordered a new battery, hopefully that sorts it out. Probably is a bad battery, but I read somewhere that a version of os 6 was causing battery drain and was causing the battery meter to be inaccurate. Just wanted to be sure before I bought a new battery

Let me know if you have any further problems once you get the new battery. The OS can cause battery drain, but nothing as severe as what you say. Always here to help! :D
