BlackBerry Granted Touch-free Image Editing Patent

BlackBerry, formerly known as Research In Motion, has been fairly active in its innovative patents. The most recently granted patent calls for touch-free image editing.

The software would synthesize a combination of images taken with IR and some without. Thereby being able to determine the intended areas of selection.

BlackBerry looks to extend this technology across multiple platforms, such as “a mobile communications device, comprising: a digital camera… [and] a cellular subsystem…” claims the patent.
