RIM recently released an update for BlackBerry Bridge with devices running on OS 7.1, which allows your BlackBerry smartphone to act as a remote control of the BlackBerry PlayBook. If you have a BlackBerry with a touchscreen it shows a guide to control even bezel swipes and other of the same PlayBook functionality from the BlackBerry smartphone. Unfortunately, if a device doesn’t have a touchscreen, you won’t be able to use the TrackPad. You’ll only be able to select different parts of the PlayBook. Check out the video demo below and let us know what you think.

I can’t wait for OS 2.0 to come out…this is awesome for hooking up to the big screen!
Hi Ross,
Ty from RIM here. Sounds like you’re just as excited as I am for PlayBook 2.0! I’m pumped for this Remote Control feature, too, because I’ll be able to use my BlackBerry Bold’s QWERTY keyboard to do some serious typing on the PlayBook. I’ll also be able to hook the PlayBook up to my HDTV and use my smartphone to surf the internet from my couch.
I recommend checking out this video we shot at CES this week on the new BlackBerry Bridge features in PlayBook 2.0 that really shows off the power of your smartphone and tablet working together: http://bbry.lv/z1IsJk.
