According to a leaked slide, the BlackBerry Torch 9860 will have had a very short lived shelf life. Orange UK plans to put the Torch 9860 in the End of Life (EOL) bin this month. Meaning, you likely will not find one in stores, unless they still have excess stock.
We can’t really blame Orange, since the Torch 9850, 9860 devices barely received any marketing from RIM. So far, the only BlackBerry 7 device we’ve seen get some TV showcasing is the Bold 9900 and Torch 9810 (only because of AT&T). Wave adieu to the 9860.

9850-9860 got little marketing from RIM. They also got little innovation, and little apps. But hey, they got lots of Java. Old school java that is.
I think this is the only full touchscreen phone on sale right now without a dual-core and or a front video chat camera.
you harvest what you seed
did I mention it also got an orphan resolution? no other bb phone has a resolution like this phone. Not even PB.
horrible phone, never seen anyone with one!
I would strongly disagree. I absolutely love the 9860. The screen is absolutely stunning and all of the apps that the 9900 has are on the 9860 . Wish RiM did some marketing behind this !
its not a bad phone on its own, but it bears no comparison to a iphone 4s or dualcore droid with front camera, pal….
rim is just not competitive here
The 9850/9860 was and is the red-headed step child of the BBOS7 group. First to correct comment above – No it most certainly does not have the same apps as the 9900/9930. The resolution and virtual keyboard were not obstacles many developers decided to ignore. The 9900/9930 can side load a ton of OS6 apps with similar resolutions, the 9850/9860 has a resolution no other BB has or will ever likely have. Not to mention even compared to its big brother (9900/9930) it has second rate materials (plastic screen and bezel v. glass and metal). Not to mention BBs have the lowest amount of Application memory of any other Smartphone. In fact even the 9930 does not have the same amount of Application memory as the Iphone 3G. The original Droid Incredible (released 2 yearsa ago) has similar physical specs to the 9850/9860 except it has a gorgeous glass screen and solid body, 8 megs of built in app memory, expandable application memory, supports flash, live icons on the home screen, animated home screen wallpapers, various keyboards and 10X the amount of applications and games that will ever be available on the 9850/9860. I have said this for 3 years, and will repeat as necessary, if you are not locked into a BES, you are a fool to be on BB.
Um…
First of all the screen is amazing on the 9860 ..only if security means nothing to u need the ability for widgets ..thank god bb will never have them ..as a phone aka a communication device blackberry is second to none. Not everyone enjoys a brick by their ear. Flash is useless and if you go by that factor the iphones sucks as well..
If you want a PHoNE and not a gimmick I don’t know how you can not have a bb…
The 9860 is the best phone I have ever had. Blackberry has better security and intuitively run email management system that no other phone I have used came even close to. I discovered BlackBerry by mistake and it changed my life. I don’t use a PC for email any more.
