Clash of Clan’s spin-off(ish), Clash Royale skyrocketed to the top of Apple’s Top Apps chart in just 12 hours

Clash Royale is the latest from the makers of Clash of Clans and already it’s proving itself to be a big hit.

Merely 12 hours since the game went live, Supercell’s latest game skyrocketed to the top spot of the Top Apps chart on Apple’s App Store.

SensorTower, the intelligence firm responsible for providing the data on thr game’s record-breaking achievement, also pointed out that the latest from Supercell has successfully taken over the 25th spot for the highest-grossing game on iPad, as well as the 7th spot for the same on iPhone.

Clash Royale is the first game from Supercell that attempts to deviate from the developer’s traditional multiplayer games that focus more on building bases, farms, and kingdoms.

Although Supercell has made it clear that the game is not Clash of Clans 2 and that it be should be treated as an entirely separate game, Clash Royale has taken a lot of things from CoC — including units from it.

It remains unique, however, due to the fact that it is currently the only game from Supercell that focuses on one-on-one simultaneous duels.

Clash of Clans, Boom Beach, and Hay Day — which are all Supercell’s creations — focus more on building territories.

Clash Royale’s huge hit is expected to propel Supercell even further up in the $34.8 billion mobile gaming industry.

The company’s original blockbuster hit, Clash of Clans, has managed to remain a top-grossing mobile game every year since its launch in 2012.

Whether or not Clash Royale can keep its momentum and stay on top of the charts, however, still remains to be seen.
