Conor Anthony McGregor was born in Ireland on July 14, 1988. He is a pro MMA artist who is currently signed with the UFC, or Ultimate Fighting Championship. In December 2015, Conor became the UFC’s reigning Lightweight Champion, previously Featherweight Champion. He has also competed in the welterweight division. Best known for his decadent lifestyle and trash-talking ways, Conor McGregor broke records by drawing the biggest pay-per-view numbers that MMA had ever seen before.

Conor McGregor’s Incredible UFC Ascent

Conor McGregor’s mixed martial arts career began in 2008, but by 2012 he had already won Cage Warrior fights in both the Lightweight and Featherweight Championships; he held both at the same time when he vacated them to sign with the UFC. At the UFC 194 in 2015, he defeated José Aldo via knockout in the Featherweight Championship only 13 seconds into the first round – the quickest victory that a UFC title fight had ever seen before! At UFC 205, McGregor went on to defeat Eddie Alvarez in the Lightweight Championship which made him the very first UFC fighter to ever hold titles in 2 different divisions at the same time.

McGregor: The Bond Villain?

Some things never change, and James Bond films is one of them. Bond, the girls, and the villain – a role, which Conor McGregor was toying with the idea of portraying in the latest Bond installment, Spectre. He was quoted as saying that they (his management, or the film’s producers? Noone is certain) wanted him to audition for the film. The fact that the last James Bond villain played by Javier Bardem won an Oscar inspires him – as well as the 7 figure paycheck – but that his fighting careers take all of his focus and energy. As it turns out, the role went to a WWE champ instead – namely Batista.

From Welfare to Wealthy

When Conor McGregor won the title fight at UFC 94, the prize check was $500,000 with an additional $50,000 for winning Performance of the Night. He now earns $3 million per fight – but it was not always a lavish lifestyle of luxury for this Irishman.

When McGregor first debuted in the UFC, where he won $60,000 for knocking Marcus Brimage out in the first round, he was overcome with emotion at his sheer fortune. He went on to admit that only a week prior to this, he had collected his (last) welfare check!

Conor McGregor’s Actual Net Worth

Despite recent Twitter trash talks from Floyd Mayweather claiming he was worth 2.5 million, Conor McGregor is, in fact, worth approximately $22 million.
