Rumors about Elder Scrolls 6 have surfaced signalling a release date before the end of 2015, however, official sources have confirmed that it not the case, and new rumours suggest ‘Elder Scrolls 6 or a Skyrim 2’ game is pointed to a release date of sometime in 2016-2017.
The biggest rumor for ‘Elder Scrolls 6 & Skyrim 2’ is the multiplayer mode, however, sources confirm this is highly unlikely for now.
Digital trends recently listed 5 things they want from ‘the Elder Scrolls 6’: a new combat system, an overhauled AI, a wider voice cast, more player agency and a compelling setting.
The Elder Scrolls Online continues to make high sales numbers, and while it’s not confirmed how much Skyrim has sold, it’s likely that it very easily tops over $1 billion USD on PC alone.
We are not yet sure if the core development team is available, however, Bethesda has the resources to make ‘Elder Scrolls 6 or a Skyrim 2’ a reality some time soon, from previous experience we clearly know that the studio has a history of starting their next project before the last is even released. We know they started working on The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion before The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind had even officially released, and the same case is likely true of Skyrim.
