The first couple of leaks we had for the BlackBerry ‘Bold Touch’ Dakota/Montana have only been computer renders. Today, we present you with the first images of a living, breathing Bold Touch. There were the ‘original’ leaked photos of the BlackBerry Magnum, or pre-Dakota. The form factor itself hasn’t changed too much since then, and it still has that gorgeous all metal frame.
The image above shows off the digital compass. The touchscreen experience is said to feel much better than the Torch. A recap on the specs, with some of them a little different than as were previously leaked; the Dokota/Montana will run on OS 6.1, it will sport a 2.8-inch VGA 640×480 capacitive screen, Magnetometer, Accelerometer, Proximity sensor, NFC, 5MP camera, and on this particular model it has only 6.5GB of built in storage, 512MB of RAM. RIM is finally stepping it up a bit and we’re very excited for the Bold Touch. Oh, and when you see the back shots…ya, that’s carbon fiber on the battery door! Hit the break for more photos!

i. want. that. NOW!
You are not alone!
WANT.
It looks really awesome. I like that iluminated frame of the trackpad. I used a BB 9000 almost two years ago really like the form factor. Waiting impatiently for the release
I was gonna say, I noticed the trackpad was lit up too! That’s definitely cool! I’m excited for this next round of BlackBerry releases from RIM. I’m due for an upgrade in August! Perfect timing for one! Sounds like these new unreleased BB’s we’ve been hearing about are what BlackBerry 6 should have been right from the start!
guys, any comments on battery life.
this BB seems perfect form-factor, as i was a 9000 user.
any ideas when it will come out…
i need to start saving for this device from now…
This looks like a fantastic phone. Any pics of the touchscreen in action?
I’ve been looking forward to getting this onw. Dropping the RAM from the early leak or 768MB to 512MB is a disappointment. I will hold comment on the 6.4GB flash storage bump from 4GB until I see a production model. I’m hoping for a microSD slot, which was not in the early spec list.
Any word on a release date?
Just don’t understand the need for a touchscreen on one of these. Otherwise, looks really nice!
Sweet phone
