Recover WhatsApp Deleted Messages: Yes it’s possible

Whether or not you have a sinister purpose behind wanting to recover deleted messages from your WhatsApp app, the fact that you’re here means you’re in a desperate situation.

Don’t worry. We’re here to help you out.

It’s probably safe to say that everyone and we mean everyone who ever owned a handheld device — be it a mobile phone or a tablet — has had their fair share of mini-heart attack moments after accidentally deleting something so special.

It could be a photo or a video of a priceless moment, or it could be something of utmost importance in a form a message — be it a text message or one from a messaging app.

Accidentally deleting a photo or a video is no longer as scary and as heart-stopping as it once was, thanks to the invention of the latest mobile operating systems — which now allows us the chance to give things a second thought by providing an option to recover deleted images and videos through an album solely dedicated to it, called the ‘Recently Deleted’ album/folder.

But the latter, accidentally deleting a message — now that’s a little complicated.

If you’ve accidentally deleted iMessages on your iPhone, or text messages on your Android, then it could be the end of the world for you.

If you’re an Android user, however, and the message you accidentally deleted was on your WhatsApp app — then there just might be a little more hope left for you.

Read on and we’ll tell you how to recover deleted messages in WhatsApp itself.

By the way, you will need a PC in order to get this to work out.

Data recovery tool

To recover deleted messages in WhatsApp, the first thing you might want to do is to download a data recovery tool for Android — if you don’t already have one. There are lots of good software products to choose from if you would simply do your research.

Not sure what to get? You can always read reviews about different tools of the same purpose. And then you download what you think is best.

Connect

After successfully downloading and installing the software of your choosing, you’re going to have to connect your phone to your PC. If, for some reason you are still being prompted by your recovery tool program to connect your phone to your PC even though it’s already connected, just disconnect and reconnect your phone’s USB cable to your PC.

USB Debugging

It’s important to note that the entire trick itself might not work at all if you don’t first enable USB debugging on your device. Failure to do so might cause your PC to fail to recognize your phone, and the entire thing will be pointless. It’s also important to make sure that you are using your own PC when doing this, as the process itself renders your device vulnerable to malware.

Once you’re sure you’ve enabled USB debugging, proceed with connecting the two devices and your PC should start checking your phone data.

Scanning

After successfully connecting your device to your PC, your data recovery tool program will ask for your permission to let it scan your phone for data. Allow it to scan your phone, and then select the box that represents the data you wish to recover.

Recovering the lost data

Once your PC has successfully scanned your device, you will be able to view all the deleted data on your device. This is where you’ll be given the chance to restore all the data that you would want to be restored, including the deleted WhatsApp messages you have been working so hard on getting.

This will also let your restore all other things missing, including photos, videos, documents, and other files worth keeping.
