The record needs to be set straight. After it was rumored to be coming to the platform, we’ve seen far too many users still wondering when Instagram might officially come to BlackBerry 10. In desperation, we’ve seen people create fake images to stir the community.

Speaking with a friend who works at Instagram, the company is said to simply not be interested in the platform. Retiterating what Instagram CEO, Kevin Systrom, previously said in an interview.

In a Q&A session with BlackBerry VP of Developer Relations, Alec Saunders, he confirmed that no official Instagram app would be coming to BlackBerry 10 at the moment.

There you have it. But, don’t think BlackBerry hasn’t tried. Saunders said the company had aggressively tried to persuade Instagram to change their mind. Instagram could still change their mind at any point in time.

“If you want Instagram on your BlackBerry 10 device, you’ll have to find another photo sharing alternative,” said Alec Saunders. That is unless you don’t side-load the Android version of the Instagram app. Although, that could be tricky depending on your level of computer savviness.
