PlayBook OS 2.0 Ads Hitting Stores in UK

playbook-os2-ads

A good sign that the launch of PlayBook OS 2.0 is right around the corner, point of sale banners have been going up at stores in the UK. With PlayBook OS 2.0′s official release just weeks away, it’s great to see RIM already trying to get the word out.

PlayBook OS 2.0 will finally bring some native PIM apps with email, calendar, contacts, and a video store. The update will also bring a revamped UI and a few other improvements. Are you excited for the release of PlayBook OS 2.0?

Thanks Frederick!

It’s very obviously a fake image. For one the “what?” in the sentence is obviously a placeholder because they haven’t worked out what to put there yet. Secondly, look at the word “SOFTWARE” in the top left of the image – see how it is very obviously covered by a reflection yet the other words in white arent? That means those sentences are overlaid after the photo has been taken.

I think this photo is a mock up to see what the display should look like.

Amy ideas as to an actual release date or why RIM hasn’t accounced a date for its release. With DevCon europe coming up soon and the unoffical release date of feb 17th at the same time i hope they announce it at the begining and not the end.
