Preview: What BlackBerry Will Showcase at Mobile World Congress 2012

mwc2012

Mobile World Congress 2012 is nearly here, with it just a few weeks away in Barcelona, Spain. At last year’s MWC event, RIM announced the new features of BBM 6.0 and did demos of the PlayBook. Interested to know what RIM will be showing this year? Here’s a quick preview:

2012 will be the year of BlackBerry 10 so we’ll be showcasing the capabilities of our future operating system as well demonstrating the power of BlackBerry 7, with a particular focus on NFC and BBM connected apps. We’ll demonstrate how we align constructively with our carrier partners, as well as highlighting the value added by the recent additions to the BlackBerry family including NewBay Software, The Astonishing Tribe (TAT), Jaycut and Scoreloop.

This means we can expect to see some more great TAT demos, as well as others from RIM’s new acquisitions. While we won’t see any BlackBerry 10 devices, RIM will at least be giving us some additional insight into the BlackBerry 10 OS and future for PlayBook tablet. Keep it locked to N4BB on February 27th – March 1st for all the BlackBerry news from Mobile World Congress 2012.

This is a tough call. I wonder if they (1) had a plan in place for soacil media crisis communications, and (2) if they did, how much they stuck to it?
