RBC and Bell announced today the availability of a fast, easy and secure way of making payments for RBC mobile banking customers. They can purchase goods and services with debit or credit using their Bell Mobility devices.
“RBC is excited to team up with Bell to provide our mutual clients with an integrated mobile solution for debit and credit payments,” said Dave McKay, Group Head, Personal and Commercial Banking, RBC Royal Bank. “This is the first piece of a broad RBC mobile commerce solution rolling out to clients this year, all delivering the great, robust user experience and the security that RBC is known for.”
This new payment solution integrates with RBC’s existing mobile banking app and appears on the home screen as an additional option. This option will be available by end of year, on devices that have nfc capabilities.
The two companies expect for the service to be available by years end and are testing the solution with consumers and merchants.
In developing the solution, Bell and RBC have adhered to all major credit card regulations, as well as GSM standards for the best possible use and protection of this tool.
