RIM Acquires JayCut Online Video Editor

logo_jaycut_smart-object

Research In Motion has just announced a new addition to their family! JayCut, a Sweden based company, is an online video editor and cloud-based service. Here’s what RIM has to say:

The BlackBerry PlayBook offers users premium multimedia features, including dual HD cameras for video capture and video conferencing, HDMI output and high resolution video playback. By working with JayCut to add video editing capabilities to the BlackBerry platform we can further enrich our customers’ multimedia experience with BlackBerry.

So it seems like we’ll be seeing this new service on the PlayBook. Good to see RIM working hard on bringing cool new stuff to the BlackBerry platform. What do you guys think?

  1. oooer! I like this. It’s great to see RIM expanding the opportunities of the camera especially in video – video editing is something iphone users have been enjoying lately. I’d love to see them come up with a service like instagram for the photo imaging or better yet, entice them to come aboard!
