ThinkEquity Claims 50% of IT Managers Have Decided to Replace BlackBerry Enterprise Server
Another round of a doom and gloom survey this time from research firm ThinkEquity. The survey claims at 50% of IT managers have decided to ditch the BlackBerry Enterprise Server within a year and that 70% within 2 years.
The alleged reason for the mass exodus? They fear that if RIM were to go belly up that those IT managers would be left in the dust. If they are to move their employees from BES, they’ll likely move to third party management solutions. This way IT departments can still support BlackBerry devices, but without the worry of whether or not BES system will continue to be supported.
It was not immediately apparent what methods ThinkEquity utilized to determine these statistics. Do you believe there to be any truth to the IT management’s exodus from BES?
