Titanfall 2 Teaser

The first Titanfall game was released in 2014, and two years on it’s fans are eager to get their hands on a sequel. Although EA have just released a new teaser trailer for the game, you’ll have to wait until June for the “worldwide reveal”.

This time of year is when we normally see the beginning of the build up to E3, and with that comes a variety of teaser-trailers. It seems that EA and Respawn Entertainment have decided to hit the ground running with the release of their new teaser trailer, and have done so before many other studios have released any teasers for June. E3 is about two months away and will be the perfect stage for the “world reveal” of the Titanfall 2.

The trailer itself doesn’t give us much in the way of clues about what to expect, but as it opens we hear a voice saying “people like you always want to be a hero”, which could be in reference to fans wanting to see a campaign mode in the sequel. Something the first game lacked, unless you count the occasional story-like cinematic between multiplayer games. Could this be the first proper protagonist of the Titanfall series?

The trailer also shows a titan wielding a huge sword. A HUGE SWORD. Sorry the excitement of piloting a mechanical titan whilst causing havoc with a sword got a bit too much for me. Unfortunately the trailer doesn’t actually show any combat, but I suppose it’s called a teaser trailer for a reason. If this sword is an indication that melee fighting would play a big part in Titanfall 2 then that is exciting news.

The first title was only released for PC, Xbox 360 and Xbox One, but now Playstation players can rejoice and bask in the the glory of Titanfall as a PS4 release has been confirmed.

Look out for Titanfall 2’s “Worldwide Reveal” on June 12th.
