Video: BlackBerry PlayBook’s HDMI projection shown off

On a BlackBerry? Click here for mobile video view

Here is another great demo video of the BlackBerry PlayBook, conducted again by David Heit, VP of Strategy for RIM. In this video, Heit shows off how the e-mail works on the PlayBook when paired with your BlackBerry. He also shows how the HDMI projection works and looks. One cool thing was you could still work both the front and back cameras while projecting the PlayBook’s screen.

Heit says the first PlayBook will be WiFi only and it is up to the carriers if you’ll be able to tether your BlackBerry smartphone to it for internet. It is up for interpretation, but we didn’t feel Heit sounded very confident with it.

  2. Up to the carrier?!? C’mon! Bluetooth internet capability please!!

  3. The VP’s comments on it being up to the carrier aren’t too optimistic. Luckily my carrier allows free tethering!
