100,000 BlackBerry 10 Apps Expected by US Launch

Users of BlackBerry 10 devices should come to expect a plethora of new apps in the weeks ahead. In an interview with the Australian Financial Review, CEO Thorsten Heins revealed that BlackBerry World should cross the 100,000 app mark in time for the US launch of the BlackBerry Z10.

This will be a huge leap from the 70,000 available apps reported in last quarter earnings call. Some of the top tier apps such as Skype, Netflix, Instagram, etc are still expected to release.

“I think we are seeing the dynamic changing over time as they want to watch and see how BlackBerry 10 is making it in the market,” Heins pointed out. “They want ROI on their development dollars as well… it is our job to convince them that BB10 is a successful platform.”
