While Acer may not be a huge force in the global smartphone market, the Taiwanese company is in Berlin today for IFA 2015, and has announced six new affordable Liquid devices.
The lineup is lead by Acer’s Liquid Z630, a mid-range smartphone that features a quad-core 1.3GHz MediaTek MT6735 processor. It’ll run on a modest 2GB of RAM, and come equipped with a massive 4,000mAh battery. It’ll launch with Android Lollipop 5.1 out of the box and 16GB of internal storage. The Liquid Z630 will be available for €199 at launch later this year.
Acer’s going even lower in price with its other handhelds this year. Starting at €149, next month, Acer will be launching the Liquid Z530, which is being touted as the “perfect selfie smartphone.” The 8-megapixel front facing camera comes with a ridiculously wide-angle lens that will let you take really good pictures of you and your friends whenever you want. It’ll also come pre-loaded with Android Lollipop 5.1, 1GB of RAM and 8GB of storage internally.
Next up are the Liquid Z330/M330 and Liquid Z320/M220 which are meant to be entry-level devices. The Z variants will be running Android 5.1, while the M variants will be Acer’s first Windows 10 devices. All four feature Snapdragon 210 chips with smaller 4.5-inch displays, 1GB of RAM, and 8GB of internal storage. The Z330/M330 will feature 5-megapixel front facing cameras and LTE connectivity, while the Z320 and M320 will only have 2-megapixel selfie shooters and have 3G compatibility.
Acer’s Android-based Z330 and Windows 10-running M330 due out in EMEA in October starting at €129. While the two lowest tier devices have not received pricing or release details yet.
