Amazon is gearing up for a big announcement tomorrow. Many are speculating that the announcement could be for the rumored Amazon Fire tablet. The Fire tablet is rumored to look nearly identical to the BlackBerry PlayBook, but lacks as fast a processor. Apparently, Amazon’s OEM partner is Quanta, who is the same manufacturer for the PlayBook.
Word is that Amazon wants to pump out 5 million Fire tablets and release the first round by the holiday season of 2011. My only worry is that people might confuse the two tablets if they resemble each other down to the T. Perhaps the Amazon Fire tablet is the reason Quanta has shortened its production of the PlayBook. Do you think this will create confusion in the marketplace? Could the Amazon Fire tablet sell better than the PlayBook? Vote in the poll and sound off in the comments!
