Apple’s iOS 9 was not the only Cupertino software that was scheduled to make its debut today. The company had announced at its Hey Siri event that Apple Watch owners would be getting the much expected watchOS 2 update on September 16 as well. That, unfortunately, will no longer be happening and we’re still not sure why.

Apple has issued a statement about watchOS 2’s launch delay: “We have discovered a bug in development of watchOS 2 that is taking a bit longer to fix than we expected. We will not release watchOS 2 today but will shortly.”

Whenever we find out more about this issue, and when we can expect watchOS 2 to launch, we’ll be sure to update this story.
