Reports are coming out that the newly announced Apple iPhone 4S will have only 512MB RAM. The iPhone 4 also sports only a whopping 512MB RAM. During the new iPhone 4S unveiling, Apple also showcased a new game titled Blade Infinity 2. Eurogamer interviewed Chair Entertainment’s creative director Donald Mustard, who helped develop the Infinity Blade 2 demo shown at the press event. Mustard had this to say regarding the iPhone 4S:

I’m still shocked that, with the iPhone 4S, I’m literally running around with a 1080p video camera in my pocket, with an eight megapixel camera, 64GB of hard drive space and an A5 chip with 512MB of memory. This is a really powerful computer, right?”

Interestingly enough, the iPhone 4S pairs much lower than the three leading BlackBerry 7 devices on the market today. The BlackBerry Bold 9900 / 9930, Torch 9860 / 9850, and Torch 9810 all have 768MB RAM. You can find these BlackBerry devices full spec sheets, here. What makes these BlackBerry devices need so much more RAM than the soon-to-be leading iPhone? Is it the Java-based BlackBerry OS? Let us know your thoughts.
