Asus unveiled an incredible line-up of third generation Asus products at Computex, including the new Asus Tablet, the Transformer Mini, which the company calls the world’s lightest detachable 2-in-1 PC.

Asus has definitely gone in the right direction with the Transformer line of devices, and it starts with the exotic name that suggests there is much more to these devices than just some hardware. For example, the Asus Transformer Book Flip can function as a tablet or a notebook without the need to remove the display from the keyboard.

Now with the new Asus Tablet, the Transformer Mini, they have created the lightest Tablet PC in the world.

Designed using premium magnesium-aluminum alloy, this Asus tablet is extremely thin at 8.2mm, weighs 530g as a tablet and just 790g with the keyboard attached.

Display on the very light Asus Transformer Mini is impressive. The 10.1” display with 1280×800 screen and 400 nits of brightness uses the company’s ASUS TruVivid display technology that is known to offer superior picture quality in all kinds of lighting.

Smart Hinge Kickstand design makes it possible for this Asus tablet to open up to 170°. It bends outward and allows users to adjust the display at almost all viewing angles.

Ergonomic Keyboard with a palm rest for easy typing. It comes with a lightweight cover that snaps on using magnets and slightly folds at the top, offering a pleasant incline. The keyboard comes with the Asus tablet, saving you headache and some cost. According to Asus, the keys travel a full 1.5mm, which is very good.

ASUS Tru2Life video technology optimizes every pixel in a frame before displaying it, which ensures a clear and more realistic video performance.

Hardware specifications include USB ports, 802.11ac WiFi and a long-lasting battery that can keep Asus Transformer Mini going for about 11 hours.

Ports are plenty in this Asus tablet. It offers a micro HDMI out, a microSD card reader, a full-size USB port and a microUSB connector for charging. On the back there is an Instant ID fingerprint reader that is built into the device.

Running Windows 10 OS, The Asus Transformer Mini gives users the ability to use Office Mobile, Windows Hello and Cortana.

ASUS Quick Launch is new and offers on-screen gestures that make everything from launching apps to putting this Asus tablet into sleep mode/waking it up quick and easy.

ZenSync smartphone integration allows users to copy and paste text, transfer files to Asus Transformer Mini and respond to messages.

Asus WebStorage for one year is offered free with the Asus Transformer Mini. This makes it possible to access all files on the go.

Color combinations for the Asus tablet and the keyboard are many, such as a Quartz Grey and Pearl White tablet with a Mint green, Amber or Icicle Gold keyboard.
