Earlier today, BlackBerry has officially announced their year-end and fourth quarter report of fiscal 2015.

Device sales were down, but the company has finally returned to profitability, beating Wall Street estimates by 9 percent.

During the earnings call, BlackBerry’s CEO gave additional insight into the earnings report and the company’s current position.

Chen speaking on software and services, the details around BBM were revealed. The cross platform service is now seeing 100+ Million monthly active users.

Additional analytics revealed by Chen were ad requests. BBM is seeing 20 Billion ad requests per month.

Chen plans to continue pushing revenue out of BBM. We recently saw customizable PINs and the ability to pay to block ads release.

It will be interesting to see with that type of ad impressions at their fingertips, what amount of advertisers BlackBerry can generate revenue from.
