After the BlackBerry World 2012 General Session keynote, we got to go hands-on with the BlackBerry 10 developer alpha device. We’ll still be getting a unit ourselves, since we’re also developers. It should first be noted that this is not a BlackBerry 10 phone. This device is only a developers device, and will never see the light of day.

The BlackBerry 10 Dev Alpha feels great in your hand. Just imagine if you could shrink the size of a PlayBook and that’s the Dev Alpha. As RIM has said, the first BlackBerry 10 device will look nothing like the Dev Alpha. It will also have a different UI, as demonstrated in the videos shown at the keynote.

The Dev Alpha currently only has the browser and camera app available for developers. We’re hoping developers will be able to port other apps to it, as the Dev Alpha is only running a modified PlayBook OS 2.0 version. Check out the rest of photo sets below:
