During the earnings call for RIM’s Q1 FY2013 results, CEO Thorsten Heins announced that the BlackBerry 10 QWERTY device would “release in close proximity to the first BlackBerry 10 device.” This is something we speculated would happen upon hearing the news that BlackBerry 10 devices had been delayed to Q1 2013.

Nevertheless, as we revealed this week, the first two BlackBerry 10 devices will be the L-Series and the N-Series. Additionally, Heins announced that they will be shrinking their device portfolio. Essentially, this means they will be consolidating their brands (i.e. Bold, Curve, etc).
