I’m late to the party of talking about the BlackBerry 10 apparent delay. Jefferies’ analyst Peter Misek released a research note which Forbs published yesterday.

In this report the quote everyone is talking about is this:

“We had hoped for a January launch but now see a March launch as more likely,” he writes. That would mean no sales of the next generation phones in the February quarter. “Also, our checks point to a tough November quarter, with replenishment rates decreasing as channel partners are cautious on holding RIM inventory. We think the business uncertainty means parties are unlikely to acquire or license from RIM until BB10 launches.”

While this sentiment seems innocent enough, what just doesn’t fit is that Peter Misek has a $5 Price target for RIMM. It appears Misek believes that RIM’s only hope is that RIM gets purchased or licenses out their OS like Android.
