Ever since Thornsten Heins became the new CEO of Research in Motion we haven’t been sure what is going to happen to the BlackBerry OS. There have been rumors of other companies buying RIM, licensing of BlackBerry OS and a lot more. We finally have some answers to these as Heins announced today that BlackBerry 10 will soon be ready for licensing.
“QNX is already licensed across the automotive sector –we could do that with BB10 if we chose to,” said Heins in an interview with Bloomberg “The platform can be licensed.”
This is some very exciting news and this new strategy might just be what RIM needs to turn their luck around. Do you think licensing BB10 will help or hurt BlackBerry?
