Earlier today it was rumored that BlackBerry PlayBook OS 2.1 update was supposed to dropped on October 3rd. BlackBerry Bridge has now received an update, which shows signs of the imminent release of PlayBook OS 2.1 later today.

Here’s what’s new in v2.1:

  • View and respond to text messages on your PlayBook™ tablet
  • BlackBerry® Bridge can now use Wi-Fi to transfer Bridge data when the BlackBerry® smartphone and PlayBook™ tablet are connected to the same Wi-Fi access point
  • Improved stability with pairing and includes connectivity bug fixes
  • Various improvements to the overall user experience

BlackBerry Bridge version can now be downloaded from App World here. If you don’t see it right away, press Alt R S T to clear App World’s cache. Then search for it again.

Thanks Harold!
