BlackBerry CEO, John Chen, recently spoke at the Oasis Montgomery Summit. The two-day event included panels, presentations from high chief execs from 150 companies in various technology and media sectors, including Google CEO, Eric Schmidt.

When asked about the popularity of the Apple iPhone, John Chen replied, “I call you guys wall huggers,” with obvious sarcasm. His reasoning for such a jab is the belief that the iPhone battery life doesn’t last very long. Therefore, leaving the Apple users scouring walls for available power outlets.

Though, Chen’s claim doesn’t necessarily go unwarranted. That is, however, if you’re using the BlackBerry Z30, which has up to 25hrs mixed use and 18hrs talk time. Whereas, the latest iPhone 5S gets only 10hrs talk time, making the BlackBerry Z10 its near equal.

Nonetheless, do you think John Chen should be making such statements, which others might deem bombastic during the company’s current circumstances?
