Remember those “Wake Up” campaigns for BlackBerry in Australia? BlackBerry is now hiring John Du Vernet, who is a managing partner for Tongue, the firm behind the “Wake Up” campaign, as marketing director in Australia.

Although, Du Vernet will not be in the position permanently, but no date has been set for him to return to Tongue.

Do you think Du Vernet can aid in generating a better ad campaign than the “Wake Up” stunt? If you’re unfamiliar, the “Wake Up” campaign featured speed boats trailing banners, a flashmob outside Sydney Apple Store and a mysterious video blog by Nate ‘Blunty’ Burr.
