The next BlackBerry device to hit the market will be the Passport, and the company wants to make sure you know exactly why it’s a device you should seriously consider. In a post on the Inside BlackBerry Blog, BlackBerry’s Matt Young exposes a series of serious reasons for what makes the Passport so unique, and truly innovative. The post focuses mainly on the design of the device. Many of us have already chimed in on whether it’s a good look or not, but BlackBerry points out a few facts that may sway some that are on the fence about the Passport.
For example, they cite academic typology which states “the optimal number of characters on a line in a book is 66 characters.” Current smartphones show around 40 characters, while the Passport will be able to display 60 characters, much closer to what we are accustomed to in books.
“BlackBerry Passport offers its size and aspect ratio to accommodate these characters, making it the ideal device for reading e-books, viewing documents and browsing the web. No more worrying about portrait or landscape modes, and no; you aren’t missing anything.”
BlackBerry also points out a few reasons why professionals from all walks of life will also benefit from using the Passport. Included in these examples are architects, journalists, healthcare and finance professionals. They also include one of the best quotes I’ve read recently, “The Passport is like the IMAX of productivity.”
It’s a fantastic read, and is sure to be informative for many, so check out the source link below to read the full post on the Inside BlackBerry blog.
