Earlier today, we saw a BlackBerry Passport drop test video from Axiom Telecom. It is one of the first of its kind, and shows the Passport’s durability at about a 5 foot drop.
The Passport survived the “extreme” drop test, with only minor battle scars. Nonetheless, the Passport was still fully usable and functional. Unlike the recently launched iPhone 6 smartphones, the Passport’s Gorilla Glass 3 remained intact.
However, I was a little unamused at the “extremity” of the test. Sure, the drops were what a normal user might encounter on their daily route to work or throughout life. Though, I had expected some truly extreme cases.
Therefore, I will be taking my precious Passport and giving it a “most extreme” drop test. I live on the side of a dormant volcano here in Australia’s southeast coast. I plan to drop the Passport off the side of a steep cliff with a decent 20 foot drop.
Furthermore, my brother was a professional MLB catcher for the Kansas City Royals. I will have his assistance in throwing the Passport from home plate to second base.
BUT, I wanted to extend our “most extreme” test to you! What grueling tests would you like to see the Passport undergo? Sound off in the comments and stay tuned for the video coming up for a Monday release, which may contain some of the tests our readers suggest.
