BlackBerry will soon officially unveil the BlackBerry Passport at launch events on September 24th. Tech critics are already calling it a flop and an ugly smartphone.

However, poll results seem to portray a different perspective from consumers. That is, at least, from those who read tech site The Verge.

Vlad Savov from The Verge says, “we’re only a third of the way through September, but this month has already delivered more updates and upgrades in the smartphone realm than the entire summer preceding it.”

Savov asks readers which company has the ‘most exciting new smartphone this month,’ with the poll options being Apple’s iPhone 6 and 6 Plus, BlackBerry’s Passport, HTC’s Desire 820, Huawei’s Ascend P7 Sapphire, Microsoft’s Lumia 830 and 730, Motorola’s Moto X and G, Samsung’s Galaxy Alpha, Note 4, and Note Edge, and lastly Sony’s Xperia Z3 and Z3 Compact.

And would you have guessed that the BlackBerry Passport is currently leading the poll? Yes, the Passport has received nearly 9,000 votes as of this writing and is garnering 35% of the over 25,000 total votes.
