A small update is starting to get pushed to BlackBerry PlayBook users who aren’t using the OS 2.0 developer beta. The update is a small patch, coming in at only 5MB. The purpose to the update is likely to patch the security hole found within the backups. This lead to the DingleBerry exploit, which allowed users to root the PlayBook.

Look for the update as it begins to propagate around the world and eventually gets pushed to your PlayBook. If you have no intentions of rooting your PlayBook then by all means do the update, for security purposes. The update also brings support for Adobe Flash 10.3 and Adobe AIR.

Thanks Dave!
