Almost a year after launching on Canadian networks the mid-ranged follow up to the Q10, the BlackBerry Q5 has hit end of life (EOL) and the Canadian carrier Bell. The Q5 was a very nice device for the price point and offered a great entry for those who didn’t want to go all out on the Q10 which has maintained a premium price point.

Likely to make space for a newer range of QWERTY devices like the BlackBerry Passport and Classic, Bell is giving the Q5 an EOL notice at the retail level.

Luckily the device (Q5) can be purchased directly from BlackBerry for about $250 unlocked which is a fantastic deal. White models are actually on sale right now meaning you could get a Q5 for as little as $150 outright.

This is a telling sign that perhaps Bell and other Canadian operates are gearing up for some of the forthcoming devices. We are expecting the Passport out in September with the Classic due sometime in November.
