This may be obvious to some, but it was certainly the last thing I thought of when having significant battery drain on my BlackBerry. I tried everything from deleting memory consuming apps, trying different OS versions, and much more without finding a solution.

Then one day while mingling in a Verizon Wireless store, I was explaining to one of the reps about the issue. She immediately took out my battery and spun it on a surface. Sure enough, the battery slightly spun around like a table top. What did this prove? It showed that the battery was bulging out a bit and thus had gone bad.

I immediately *face palmed* at my utter stupidity for not thinking my problem to be with the battery itself. Nevertheless, I learned a nice little trick to try in the event that I have serious battery drain and all other viable reasons prove not to be it.

If you feel you have a bad battery, here’s a shameless plug to check out the great pricing we have on new BlackBerry batteries in the N4BB store.
