The discussion around BlackBerry re-entering the tablet market since the PlayBook’s failure hasn’t ceased. We have heard whispers that suggested BlackBerry was actively considering another tablet by 2015.
Even John Sims, President of Enterprise at BlackBerry, said, “we see value in a tablet and I can tell you that John Chen REALLY likes the idea of a tablet.” Though, some believe a tablet isn’t on any future BlackBerry roadmap.
However, if test results found on the popular HTML5Test.com website lend any evidence, another BlackBerry tablet looks to be alive. According to the test, an alleged BlackBerry tablet running OS 10.3.0.1337 and with a resolution of 800 x 480 scored a 493 out of 555 possible points.
Is this really a BlackBerry tablet? Could it be some new entry-level low-cost BlackBerry device mistakenly registering as a tablet? Perhaps. Though, the odds are in BlackBerry’s favor to develop a cheap tablet for the enterprise market. So, why not?
Only time will tell if BlackBerry is getting back into the tablet game. What do you make of it? Let us know in the comments.
