BlackBerry Limited has announced this Tuesday the update of their Work Drives app to version 2.0. The update improves on the apps already easy functionality and adds a few features that are certain to please the enterprise crowd.

With Work Drives, users can able to remotely access, edit, and manage content located on the enterprise network drives and Microsoft SharePoint files. BlackBerry Work Drives provides offline access to network and SharePoint files with pinning, automatically synchronizes latest changes to network files, and extends synchronization beyond Wi-Fi networks to the mobile network. File Manager and Documents To Go™ can be used to manage the SharePoint and network files and folders. And the BlackBerry Enterprise Service (BES) administrator can remotely map network drives or content sites for end users.

Some of the new features in this release include:

  • Easy authentication with integration in BlackBerry 10 Credential Manager
  • Easier access for users now with remote drive mapping by BES adminstrator
  • Support for Microsoft SharePoint

BlackBerry Works Drives requires OS 10.2.1 or higher, as well as BES 10.2 or higher, and finally, BlackBerry Balance, since it only functions on the “Work” side of your phone.
