BlackBerry Z10 Sales Boosted 40% in India by Trade-In Program

Despite the rumored mediocre sales within the US, BlackBerry 10 devices seem to be doing fairly well in the rest of the world. Most notably, the BlackBerry Z10 in India has seen a massive spike.

A trade-in program has boosted sales of the BlackBerry Z10 by 40%, confirmed BlackBerry India managing director Sunil Lalvan. The offer allows customers to trade in old smartphones for a discount of 3,000 to 11,000 rupees.

Customers in the Philippines saw a similar “Swap & Switch” program introduced allowing for savings of up to PHP 2,000. At this time, BlackBerry is evaluating whether or not to extend the trade-in offers to the Q10 and Q5.
