I’m a huge technology fan; ask anyone who knows me and they’ll testify to it. I’m all about the latest and greatest gadgets and their exponentially increasing usefulness.

These same people are always surprised to see that I still insist on using a BlackBerry smartphone, after all these years. If you’re a fan of BlackBerry, you likely wouldn’t be shocked to know my Z30 is still my favorite smartphone.

I’ve been a loyal BlackBerry user for years that I’ve lost count of the devices I have owned. My first BlackBerry device was a Pearl 8100, and I’ve stuck with BlackBerry ever since.

There was a short stint where I was using a first generation Motorola Droid. But, I was still using a Bold 9700 at the same time. The Bold was certainly better for my active communication.

I’ve used other phones since then. Android, iPhone, and Windows, and even the majority of BlackBerry 10 devices.

The Z30 tops them all for me.

It’s all I need in a phone. A screen that’s not too big and not too small, dual speakers that never cease to amaze me, incredible battery life, and the recent edition of the Amazon Appstore makes the Z30 all I want and need.

Being the tech fan that I claim to be, you’d think I’d want a phone with more impressive specs (because if we’re honest, there are dozens of phones out there with more power under the hood). The thing about technology for me is it’s perfect when it does everything I need it to do, regardless of the variables that make up the equation for perfection.

In the past, I’ve owned a Z10, Q10, and Classic. While those are all stellar phones in their own way, the Z30 is exactly what I have needed.

The Z10 and Q10 screen sizes were too small, the battery life wasn’t what I expected, and the speakers were lackluster.

The Classic, however, was an amazing phone. I loved everything about it. BlackBerry always somehow improves on their perfect keyboard, and the Classic is evidence of this.

I have felt like I am one of the targeted audience that JT mentions in his Classic review. Though, I couldn’t help but keep looking longingly at my Z30.

Before returning to the Z30, I would reminisce about the perfect 5-inch display.

I ached for those dual speakers that blared all my music, videos, and games at a volume that I could still hear while in the shower.

I still need to try out the Passport. From what I hear, it’s all it’s cracked up to be and more.

For now, my BlackBerry Z30 will continue to be my daily driver until the next high-end all-touch BlackBerry is released. We’ll see if what’s to come will be mighty enough to knock my Z30 off its throne.

What device are you using, and why do you still use it on the daily? I’d love to hear from you in the comments below!
