Another rumor will stir the pot this evening, as Bloomberg is reporting Sprint will attempting to buy T-Mobile some time in the summer months. These deals tend to take forever, and drag out endlessly before finally being completed which is reports like these sometimes surface.

Bloomberg sources are claiming Sprint has met with six lending banks to prepare for a bid for Magenta. While there aren’t any deals in place yet, the carrier would be making its offer between June and July, according to the sources. Bloomberg believes right now SoftBank – who owns Sprint – and Deutsche Telekom – T-Mobile’s owner – are ironing out the details of what would go where, and who would own what.

The sources also claim any takeover would include putting T-Mobile’s CEO, John Legere, as the CEO of whatever the merger produces.

If this deal gets the green light from both parties involved, it would still be far from over. The Department of Justice and the FCC would be obviously involved, and both company execs are aware of this.

Will we see problems spring up as they did with AT&T’s bid for T-Mobile? Who knows, but it’s definitely going to be an interesting summer to say the least.
