TAT Founder, Hampus Jakobsson, Leaving RIM

TAT Founder, Hampus Jakobsson, Leaving RIM

*UPDATE* – RIM has released the following statement to us:

RIM can confirm that Hampus Jakobsson has left his role as Director, Strategic Alliances at RIM. We wish him the best. The BlackBerry 10 UI team, which includes many members of The Astonishing Tribe, as well as others around the world, remains on track to deliver BlackBerry 10 in the first quarter of 2013.

The Astonishing Tribe, which is the company behind the incredible UI and UX improvements we’ll come to see in BlackBerry 10, will be losing its founder. Hampus Jakobsson announced via Twitter that he was handing over the reigns to others at Research In Motion.

Though, he did not directly specify a reason, in answers to followers comments Jakobsson stated he did start-ups and was looking to start another business. However, TAT remained confident that business would remain as usual and nothing would be changing (other than their founder leaving).

What do you think of this news? Will it cause any kind of changes to the future of TAT and its implementation in BlackBerry 10?
