Have you wanted to have a separate wallpaper for the lock screen on BlackBerry 10? You’re not alone. There have been some apps who have sought to solve this problem. Though, with the limited API access from BlackBerry, the apps would have to remain open as an Active Frame, which is kind of annoying and memory consuming.
Luckily, there is a workaround to solve the issue. Apparently, it works quite well. The workaround works something like this:
- Set the wallpaper you want for the lock screen
- Now turn on Parent Mode from the ‘Parental Control’ settings found in ‘Security and Privacy’ on the settings area
- This is a second profile and will not have reset your icon setup
- Now set the wallpaper you’d like for the background
All you have to do is rearrange your icons within Parent Mode. Now you can have a separate wallpaper for the lock screen and background, while using Parent Mode. You can also use Parent Mode to create multiple profiles.
