0

Have a Gmail account added on BlackBerry 10 and getting duplicate contacts? You’re not alone. Google allows you to save your contacts to their service and use it as a backup.

However, by syncing the service in BlackBerry 10 it is causing duplicate contacts. In knowledge base article KB34047 BlackBerry has stated they’re aware of the issue and development team is working to correct it. Though, no time frame is given.

For the short-term, BlackBerry gives the following workaround:

Remove Gmail Contacts

  1. Swipe down from the top bezel
  2. Select Settings
  3. Select Accounts
  4. Select Gmail Contacts
  5. Select Delete

Re-add Gmail Contacts

  1. Select Add Account at bottom of Accounts screen
  2. Select Email, Calendar and Contacts
  3. Enter Gmail email address
  4. Enter password
  5. Set Sync Email to Off
  6. Set sync Calendar to off
  7. Ensure Sync Contacts is On
  8. Select Done
