Facebook Multiple Accounts
Facebook Messenger multiple account support is now available on Messenger for Android. The latest update allows you to have multiple accounts.
Different people can log in to the Messenger app on an Android device. For example, your loved ones or family members can use Messenger on a single tablet device without having to log out and log in every time.
Multiple accounts allows an user to maintain several different Facebook or non-facebook Messenger accounts on the app. The first time you switch accounts, you’ll be asked for the log-in password. After that, you can choose whether you want to be asked for the password.
Notifications for all the accounts will be shown, but you will not be able to see the messages of another account. Others will only see the number of notifications. You’ll have to switch to that account and only then will you be able to view and read the messages.
“All over the world, hundreds of millions of people share their phones and tablets with members of their family and friends. At Messenger, we want to make communication simpler, more seamless and secure, so we are happy that we have now launched a feature on Android that enables multiple people to log in and use Messenger from a single, shared device.”
Adding a new account on the Messenger app for Android is easy. You’ll need to navigate to Settings of the app and look for the ‘Accounts’ section. Now, add a new account using required credentials and that’s it.
Like we mentioned before, switching to a newly added account will require you to type in the password the first time. After that, you can choose whether to input password or not. However, we suggest that you do choose to ask for password. Otherwise, anyone can switch to your account and view the messages.
Facebook recently brought the multiple account feature to its photo-sharing app, Instagram, as well.
The update is currently rolling out, so it could take some time to reach your device. The new Facebook Messenger multiple account update can also be downloaded from the Google Play Store.
