We’ve been hearing a lot about BBM comingo to iOS and Android this week, and it was just a matter of time before fake apps started spreading. A fake BBM for Android app was found earlier today in the Play Store. Google has already pulled it from their store, but not before it managed to fool thousands of users into downloading it.  More than 100,000 Android users downloaded the app, which did nothing but show a “Coming Soon” screen and ask for permission to install an ad network that would install icons, bookmarks and other stuff on your device.

iOS and Android users need to be careful during before the launch of the real BBM app. A lot of fake apps will probably show up and some of them will want to cause harm to your phone and your data. If you were one of those, delete the app if you haven’t already. For those of you who didn’t download it, don’t worry. It’s already been pulled from the Play Store.
